The free ferry runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week, all year round. This is all weather-dependent, as the boat won’t travel in unsafe conditions. There is no fixed departure schedule, and two to six ferries are continuously running back and forth.

Are There Long Wait Times?

Wait times can vary widely depending on the time of year. During peak times like the summer, holidays, and weekends, wait times can be an hour or more. If you’re trying to catch a ride during off-peak times, you can often drive right on.

What Is the Capacity?

Each boat carries 20 vehicles, but some newer vessels hold more. There are size and weight limits, so capacity can vary. Cyclists and those traveling without a care are also allowed on board.
